In 1843, the industrialists Hermann Krupp and Alexander Schoeller founded the company as the private Metallwarenfabrik. The company became known for the first industrial production of cutlery in the world and survived the world wars and various restructurings. During the First World War, even our great-grandfathers were familiar with the metal helmets of their own manufacture, the so-called Berndorf helmets with a small bear in the emblem.
Today, Berndorf AG, based in Berndorf, Lower Austria, is the holding company of a group of industrial companies. In addition to the construction of swimming pools, the core competencies lie in metal processing, toolmaking, heat treatment, belt systems, press plates, process engineering and mechatronics. The Berndorf Group's subsidiaries and affiliated companies employ around 2,300 people in more than 20 countries. Know-how, experience, competence and international networking make the Berndorf Group a global market leader in key industry areas.
As a subsidiary, Berndorf Bäderbau has been a leading manufacturer of stainless steel pool systems since 1960 with its pan-European branches and sales offices.
